Winter
Winter, possibly the worst time of year, even the 100+ degree weather is more bearable than the 20 degree weather outside right now, the feeling on your skin and the shivering horrible, even with a jacket and warm clothes. What is even worse is having to miss school, only to have to make up the days missed at the end of the year. While getting out of school is great, I'd rather get out of this place as soon as possible. What is there even to do in the winter time; you can't go outside and hangout, or even take a walk; instead we have to stay in doors and sit there hoping something good will come on TV. Well, at least global warming hasn't set in yet, then it would probably be a lot colder...

Over the weekend
This weekend I received a letter in the mail from KWC about a 16 thousand dollar scholarship to the college. Specifically it was 4 thousand each year, renewable for 4 years. Even though it will only pay for about 1 year, since each year is around 16 thousand, this coupled with any other financial aid from the FAFSA, will cut down on the cost of school tremendously. It's a pretty good feeling getting free money for trying hard and studying. Also this weekend I finally finished a seven book series by Stephen King called "The Dark Tower". Overall I thought they were the best books I have ever read, I just wish it could have kept going, and not stop after seven books. Now I'm starting to read Bram Stoker's Dracula, hopefully it's as good as people say it is, I guess I'll find out.

Ugly Words
There as so many ugly words, it's hard to think of them all. First of all, gross, that just looks ugly, not to mention ugly is an ugly word itself. Gnarled looks pretty bad, I think most words in the English language have some weird pronunciation or silent letters, especially words that sound completely different than they are spell, but hey, I didn't make the words, so I guess I cannot complain too much. Most words that are used to describe something disgusting, well, look and sound disgusting.

Bad Idea
A bad idea I once thought was a good idea was thinking I could take high school in stride and not try to get the best grades, C's would be alright, trying in school is for nerds. And now looking back on my freshman and sophomore yes, I must have been an idiot for doing that, because now I have blown most of my chances at scholarships, and I have to pay for college out of mine and my mother's pockets; it's bad enough that I decided to go to a private college too, talk about cheap...

2010
In 2010, so many things are going to be changing for me. I'll be graduating high school and moving my way to college. Also, I will be turning 18, and life will change drastically for me. I will be an adult, in a new school, working my way to my career, and I'll be doing this all on my own. It's kind of scary to think about all these things, and I'm not afraid to admit that I'm a little worried about all of this. Hopefully this time next year I will be halfway through my first year in college and things won't seem so crazy and hectic as they are now. For the next 5 months, things are going to seem rushed and I hope I am ready for this huge step in my life.

Superstitions
I myself think superstitions are just a bunch of bologna, they are a way for people to explain when times are just going bad and you aren't having very much luck, but strangely enough, I don't believe in luck either. If breaking a mirror got you sever years of bad luck, then I'm sure more than half of the world would be screwed. And also the one about a black cat crossing your path, does this mean people that have black cats all have bad luck? I don't see any decline in people buying cats just because they would be black. So to sum it up, I don't believe in superstitions at all and I never will.

2009
This past year has been a big year, the number of events that happened is almost limitless. Some of this include, the death of Micheal Jackson, among numerous other celebrities, an African American becoming president and the outbreak of swine flu. This year as included the beginning of the end of my high school career. I'm hoping that 2010 will be a great year and have as many world changing events as 2009 did, but hopefully the won't all be too terrible.
